How does it work?
To apply for a Phd Track scholarship, you must apply for a Sophie Germain master's scholarship in wave 1 and tick the "PhD Track" box on the online application form.
Eligibility criteria
Only international students wishing to enroll in an M2 Master's program in Mathematics and Applications are eligible for the PhD Track scholarship.
Funding
The duration of this funding is 4 years and breaks down as follows:
-
for the M2 year, same terms and conditions as for a Sophie Germain scholarship,
-
for the 3 years of the PhD, the equivalent of a PhD grant based on the French legislation.
Selection procedure
After a pre-selection among the M2 laureates of the Sophie Germain Master Scholarship, candidates will be auditioned by the award jury. Auditions will be held in French or English by video-conference.
What happens after M2?
Funded students must meet the academic requirements of the Master's program in which they are enrolled, and develop a thesis project with an EDMH supervisor during their M2 year. Once the master's degree has been validated, the EDMH board must approve the proposed thesis topic, so that the student can benefit from additional funding to pursue his/her doctorate.
